Duane Reade, an NYC drugstore chain, was facing increased competitive pressure from national retailers, Walgreens and CVS. The retail brand needed to radically reinvent itself in order to differentiate and remain viable.

Research revealed New Yorkers tend to shop for their daily needs within their individual work and residential neighborhoods. With that insight, we began to reimagine and redesign the Duane Reade retail experience around the mantra “New York Living Made Easy.”
We brought the experience to life through multiple private label brands, unique marketing collateral, a reinvention of their loyalty brand and a total store redesign.
These new experiences, offerings and brands completely changed the dynamic within the drug channel.
Seriously – name one other “drugstore” with a salon and a sushi bar? Only in New York.
